Agritravel EXPO - Fiera dei Territori e del Turismo Slow
Bergamo Exhibition Centre from 4th to 6th April 2025
Agritravel Expo – Fiera dei Territori e del Turismo Slow, scheduled from 4th to 6th April 2025 at the Bergamo Exhibition Centre, is an unmissable event for anyone interested in learning more about slow tourism, as well as for those working in the tourism sector.
Now in its tenth edition Agritravel Expo – Fiera dei Territori e del Turismo Slow stands out not only as being Italy’s first trade fair dedicated to ‘slow tourism’, focussing on outdoor and active travel, but also for having expanded and developed the event year after year in line with new market trends. This evolution has positioned the event as the most complete and accredited showcase of destinations, accommodation facilities, products and services tailored to holiday experiences, which are enjoying growing popularity as they foster human connection and local engagement with the land.
Agritravel Expo – Fiera dei Territori e del Turismo Slow brings together and promotes, in a single location, a wide range of travel and accommodation offerings that are designed to awaken new emotions. These include destinations and itineraries that showcase nature, art, traditions and food and wine culture, which are off the beaten tourist track yet meet the growing demand for authentic and meaningful experiences.
Slow travel, in fact, goes beyond the mere concept of travelling slowly, but offers a variety of benefits for both travellers and the regions they explore through travel experiences such as walking, trekking, cycling and hiking in hills and mountains, as well as waterways, journeys on historic railways aboard vintage trains, gourmet adventures and spiritual itineraries. The aim is to allow visitors to experience the true essence, beauty and uniqueness of each place visited.
The 2025 edition of Agritravel Expo will take place in the heart of Lombardy, a region located in a strategic position of connection between Europe and the rest of Italy, with a large catchment area of people looking for authentic and exciting experiences.
The event will also benefit from the excellent accessibility of the Exhibition Centre, which is located just seven minutes from Milan-Bergamo Airport (BGY), Italy’s first international bike-friendly airport and the country’s third busiest in terms of annual passenger traffic, and can be reached in less than an hour from Linate and Malpensa airports.
THE THEMED AREAS
ACCOMMODATION | MOBILITY
Accommodation facilities inspired by slow living are the ideal solution for a break from our increasingly hectic pace of life. Hotels, residences, B&Bs, agritourism establishments and glamping sites offer an intimate, familiar welcome, characterised by attention to detail and a rural location.
These structures are usually located in distinctive historical and environmental settings, offering a genuine soul and unique atmosphere, with a focus on inclusivity and sustainability. By embracing the slow travel philosophy, travellers forge emotional connections with the local nature, people, culture, food and traditions.
This serves as an important strategic lever for fostering zero-impact development within an area.
VILLAGES | WALKING ROUTES and WATERWAYS
Italy is particularly abundant in “small villages” that have preserved their ancient charm, nestled in verdant landscapes of incomparable beauty and made for wandering; villages that are rich in history with a strong identity, unique style and high quality of life.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities and experiences that promote conscious and responsible tourism. From scenic walks and trails for nature enthusiasts to exploring canals, bridges and waterways that form fascinating networks, there is so much to discover.
ACCESSIBILITY | SOSTENIBILITY | INCLUSIVITY
Today, more than ever, the real challenge for tourist destinations, whether urban or rural, coastal or in the mountains, is to stand out by paying special attention to the diverse needs and sensitivities of their visitors.
Staying in accommodation facilities should be an experience accessible to everyone, regardless of age or whether they are travelling solo, as a couple, with family or in a small group.
EXPERIENCE | TECHNOLOGY
Tour guides are increasingly promoting green, authentic and relaxing experiences, during which visitors can explore places of interest while engaging in activities in close contact with nature and the local culture, accompanied by tastings of local culinary specialities.
Last, but not least, technology is a fundamental resource that enhances the visitor experience by offering access to a wealth of information, while also allowing tourism operators to promote themselves more effectively.
